What does it cost to start a Nonprofit in Puerto Rico?

The published government filing fee is confirmed during intake. Our Open package currently starts at $79. Optional services and recurring costs are separate.

Can I file directly in Puerto Rico?

Yes. You can use Puerto Rico Department of State directly. Open.LLC is an independent private preparation service, not a government agency or an affiliated government website.

What should I prepare for my Puerto Rico Nonprofit?

Have your preferred company name, business address, registered-agent details and nonprofit mission, incorporator and initial director information ready. Your intake asks for the details that apply to your filing.

When is my Puerto Rico Nonprofit officially formed?

Only after Puerto Rico Department of State accepts the filing. Preparing a draft or making a payment does not form the company. Review the official authority’s current processing information; no completion time is guaranteed.

Do I need a resident agent in Puerto Rico?

Puerto Rico requires a resident agent with a local office normally open during working hours. A Puerto Rico resident individual or qualifying domestic or authorized foreign entity may serve. The entity-self pathway requires separate review. Official source

What are Puerto Rico’s annual filing costs?

LLCs pay a $150 annual government fee without an annual report. For-profit corporations file an annual report with a $150 government fee. These are separate from service and agent renewals. Annual fees are normally due April 15; current extensions and the first applicable year require review. Official source

Can I start now?

You can prepare and save your application now. State nonprofit formation and federal tax-exempt status are separate processes. Online payment opens state by state. When it’s open for Puerto Rico, you pay at the end of your application and our team reviews it and prepares the filing. If it isn’t open yet, your application stays saved.
